Fundraising & Recycling

We have several ways you can help Chatham earn extra funds for ministry by doing things you already do, including shopping, recycling and internet searches. Feel free to inform family, friends, neighbors and co-workers of these opportunities, and thanks for taking part. Please contact the church office if you have questions.

GoodSearch & GoodShop

Search the web with Yahoo-powered GoodSearch.com and they'll donate a penny to Chatham for each use. The more you search, the more your contribution adds up. Just designate Chatham as your favorite charity and start searching. No registration is required.

You can also shop at more than 600 GoodShop.com merchants and a percentage of each purchase will go to Chatham as well. Look for special offers and coupons.

Schnucks eScrip Card

Pick up a Schnucks eScrip Community Card in Chatham's office or at your local Schnucks today. Register your card by calling 1-800-931-6258 or visit the Schnucks eScrip website.

Schnucks will contribute up to 3% of your purchases to Chatham’s youth ministry every time you shop and swipe your card. And you can add Chatham to your eScrip card even if you’re already supporting another organization (up to 3 groups per card).

Paper Recycling

Gather all your recyclable paper from home and work (see list below) and drop it off in our large green and yellow recycling dumpster. The higher we fill the bin, the more we can earn per ton. Visit Abitibi Paper Retriever for more on the program.

YES, please recycle:

  • Newspaper

  • Magazines

  • Shopping catalogs

  • Mail

  • Office paper

  • Self-stick notes

  • Computer paper

  • Posters & folders

  • Fax paper

  • Envelopes - even with windows

  • Wrapping paper (non-foil)

Please DO NOT include the following:

  • Laminated paper (non-recyclable)

  • Paper towels or tissue (non-recyclable)

  • Food containers

  • Milk cartons

  • Cardboard

  • Plastic of any kind

  • Metal

  • Glass

  • Phone books

Recycling Tip: Many of the above materials can be recycled at St. Ferdinand Park at N. Lindbergh and St. Ferdinand in Florissant, the closest recycling center to Chatham.

Plastic bags can be recycled at any Dierbergs grocer.

Please phone the church office for information on other area recycling centers and programs.

Clothing & Household Item Recycling

The yellow and white shed on our lot is for reusable clothing and household items. Merchandise Pickup Service (MPS) is a for-profit company contracting with non-profits as the middle-man for distribution of usable items to local thrift stores. Chatham receives 6 cents per pound for clothing and linens from MPS for this collection.

  • Gather all your unwanted, reusable clothing, shoes, belts, purses, linens and towels. They also accept reusable and non-breakable items such as toys, books and other small household items. If it’s reusable, non-breakable and a thrift shop will accept it, they can take it for you.

  • Place your items in 13 gallon or smaller plastic trash bags and deposit them into the box drop slot.

  • For pick up of larger donations, please phone the number below.

Donations are tax deductible. Keep a list of items donated and phone 636-282-0000 Monday-Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. to request a receipt.

Box Tops for Education logoBox Tops for Education

We collect Box Tops for Education labels specifically to support Doris Todd Memorial Christian Day School in Haiku, HI where missionary Carolyn Moore is principal. Look for these special labels available on a variety of products, clip them and drop them off at the church office. Click here for a complete list of participating products.

Shoeman Water Projects

Another option for your old shoes, as well as your old cell phones, is to toss them in our special bin in the church library (shoes bagged or tied together, please). The Shoeman gives old shoes a second life, making them affordable for those in developing countries, and uses the proceeds to purchase water purification systems, wells and more to provide fresh water to those in need.

While this collection does not earn money for Chatham ministries, it directly supports Shoeman Water Projects as we care for people and creation. Learn more about these projects at shoeman.org and phones2water.org.
